Christopher Evans

Founder of Good Trip Gallery | Painter | Cultural Storyteller

Christopher Evans is a Raleigh-based fine artist whose work lives at the intersection of rhythm, memory, and movement. His bold, expressive style—often featuring layered textures, vibrant palettes, and emotional nuance—blends elements of portraiture, abstraction, and spiritual symbolism. He is the founder of Good Trip Gallery, a creative hub located in the heart of downtown Raleigh.

A former tattoo artist turned full-time painter, Evans is known for his “paint slinging” series—an experimental body of work where control is surrendered to motion, gravity, and instinct. His portraits of cultural icons like Nina Simone, Miles Davis, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and Marvin Gaye reflect a deep reverence for Black genius, resilience, and complexity.

Evans’ art has been featured at major events and institutions, including a live painting commission for Hennessy at Dreamville Festival. His work is both personal and collective—each piece rooted in a moment, a memory, or a question worth asking.

With a mission to create immersive, emotionally resonant experiences, Evans continues to expand the reach of Good Trip Gallery, inviting viewers to not just see the art—but to feel it.
